Updated 28 October 2026

A 3D2N company trip for 28 on Zada Ulla costs IDR 160,000,000 · about USD 9,816 for the boat, which is IDR 5,710,000 · about USD 350 a head. That share excludes the guide, documentation, park tickets, flights, hotel nights and tips. The lowest share on Ulla falls between 20 and 28 guests.

The worked example: 28 colleagues on Zada Ulla for three days

Budgets for a company trip start from one number, and the number usually arrives without its edges. Here it comes with them. Zada Ulla takes up to 28 guests. For 28, the 3D2N rate is IDR 160,000,000 · about USD 9,816 for the whole boat, from the 26 to 28 guest band of the 2026 list.

Divide that across the party and the share is IDR 5,710,000 · about USD 350 a head, rounded to the nearest ten thousand rupiah. That is the boat, its crew, the meals on board, the transfers between harbour and boat, snorkelling kit and life jackets, as the 2026 price list sets them out.

It is not the trip. Three more groups of costs sit outside it, and the next section adds them one by one so the HR sheet carries every line. The figures are the 2026 list, the same ones the rate page uses. Rates can also move with fuel, exchange rates, taxes and government rules, as the booking terms say, and the written quote fixes the figure for your date.

The fare's blind spots, line by line

Here is what the private fare leaves out, with the person who pays each line set against it.

On a private charter the guide and the photo and video documentation are not included; they are arranged on request and quoted separately. On an open trip both are included. Park tickets and ranger fees are never in the fare.

The park figures are those under PP 36/2024, as verified on 10 October 2026, and the quote repeats them for your sailing date.

The same trip for 12 on Zada Zen and 14 on Zada Nara

Smaller teams change the maths in a way that surprises people. Twelve colleagues on Zada Zen pay IDR 85,000,000 · about USD 5,215 for the boat, or IDR 7,080,000 · about USD 434 a head. Fourteen on Zada Nara pay IDR 105,000,000 · about USD 6,442, or IDR 7,500,000 · about USD 460 a head.

Now put the same head counts on Zada Ulla, which has a 1 to 14 guest band. Twelve on Ulla come to IDR 7,920,000 · about USD 486 a head, and fourteen to IDR 6,790,000 · about USD 417. At 14 guests Ulla is the cheaper of the two boats per head, and at 12 Zada Zen is cheaper than Ulla. At 10, Zada Zen and Zada Mega share IDR 8,500,000 · about USD 521 a head, against IDR 9,500,000 · about USD 583 on Ulla.

Price is one input and not the choice. Zada Zen is smaller than Ulla, which means fewer cabins to place a team in. Zada Zen and Zada Mega have priced extras for the guide and for documentation: IDR 750,000 · about USD 46 a day for the local guide and IDR 2,000,000 · about USD 123 a day for photo and video. For Ulla and Nara the same two lines are quoted separately on request.

Where the cost per head is lowest, and where it jumps

Zada Ulla is priced in four bands, and the share per head moves in a sawtooth. Within a band, each added guest lowers everyone's share. Crossing into the next band lifts it again, because the whole boat is re-priced.

The edges are at 14 and 15, at 20 and 21, and at 25 and 26. At 14 guests the share is IDR 6,790,000 · about USD 417, and at 15 it is IDR 7,330,000 · about USD 450. At 20 it is IDR 5,500,000 · about USD 337, and at 21 it is IDR 6,430,000 · about USD 394. At 25 it is IDR 5,400,000 · about USD 331, and at 26 it is IDR 6,150,000 · about USD 377. At the full 28 it is IDR 5,710,000 · about USD 350.

The minimum is at 25 guests, and 20 to 28 guests is the cheapest range per head on Ulla. It is lower than Nara at 14, Zen at 12 and Mega at 10.

A practical rule follows. If your list has 21 names, check whether 20 would do, since that drops you into the 15 to 20 band. If it has 26, ask whether 25 would serve. I do not suggest cutting colleagues to save money. I suggest you know where the edges are before the list is final.

A budget table to hand to finance

The table below is for a party of 28. Copy it, and replace each bracket with a figure from your own quotes. The first row is ours; the others are yours to fill.

Payment follows the booking terms: a deposit of 50 percent, and the balance 30 days before sailing. PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia is a legal Indonesian company and invoices a company, which is what most finance teams need to see.

What the desk needs in order to quote

A quote that fixes your date and your rate needs six facts, and most arrive in one message.

  • The head count, and how firm it is.
  • The split of Indonesian and foreign guests, because the park tickets differ.
  • Two or three candidate dates, weekdays included.
  • The route length, from 2D1N to 5D4N; this note uses 3D2N.
  • Whether you want a guide or documentation on a private charter.
  • The company name and tax details for the invoice.

We reply in writing with the boat, the band, the rate and the cut-offs. If the head count sits on a band edge, the reply says so and shows the neighbouring band beside it.

The figure you are budgeting is the boat share, plus the lines in the table. Everything else on a company trip, from the welcome dinner to the flights, is yours to add. I would rather you add it knowingly than find it later on an expense report.
