Pink Beach for a group: swim, snorkel and the team photo
Updated 28 October 2026
Pink Beach is a swim and snorkel stop in the national park, reached on the 2D1N route and every longer one. Snorkel gear and life jackets are on board all four Zada boats. The sand is pale pink, not bright pink, and the captain decides where the boat lies on the day.
What the pink sand and the reef give a team
The pink tint comes from fragments of red coral mixed into the sand, so the colour depends on light and tide and is pale rather than bright. The beach is a popular snorkelling spot with reef close to the shore. Water depth over the reef runs from about 1 to 8 m, the current is mild, and a snorkel session of 45 to 90 minutes is usual.
That mix makes it the easiest water stop of the route. A team does not need to be athletic to enjoy it, and it works as a social break after the climb at Padar, because guests can swim, float, snorkel or sit on the sand at their own pace.
Mornings usually give calmer water and softer light, which also helps the team photo. We do not promise a colour on a given day.

A morning swim with 28 people
Snorkelling equipment and life jackets are on board, and the equipment lists name them for each boat. Zada Ulla and Zada Nara also carry paddle boards and kayaks, which give the less keen swimmers something to do.
With 28 guests the points to settle are simple: who swims in which of two groups, where the buddy pairs are written, and who stays on the beach or aboard. Snorkelling is optional, and a non-swimmer can wear a life jacket and float or stay on the sand.
Give the crew the swimming level in the dietary and medical line of the checklist. We do not give medical advice and we do not grade swimmers; the captain and crew decide where the boat anchors.

Where it sits on the routes
Pink Beach is on day two of the 2D1N, 3D2N and 4D3N, and on day three of the 5D4N. It is not on the 1D day route. On the 2D1N it follows Komodo Island; on the 3D2N and 4D3N it comes before Komodo Island. The captain may swap the order by tide, weather and park rules, so read these as a sample.
On the 3D2N page the whole day is laid out as a run-of-show. For a team-building day, the occasion page shows how the swim and the Kelor walk fit one day of activities. If the group has a strong swimmer and a nervous one in the same cabin, say so, and we tell the crew in advance.
FAQ
Is Pink Beach good for snorkelling?
Yes. The reef is close to the shore, depth over it runs from about 1 to 8 m and the current is mild. Snorkelling equipment and life jackets are on board all four Zada boats; a session usually lasts 45 to 90 minutes.
Can non-swimmers join at Pink Beach?
Yes. The beach has easy water, and a non-swimmer can wear a life jacket and float in the shallows or stay on the sand. Snorkelling is optional, and the crew decides the entry point by tide and current.
