Komodo National Park fees for a group: who pays, on what list, and what is not in the fare
Updated 28 October 2026
Park tickets and ranger fees are never in a Zada fare. The entry fee is IDR 250,000 for foreign visitors, IDR 50,000 for Indonesians on a weekday and IDR 75,000 at weekends, per person for each park day, under PP 36/2024. A group buys on one list: names and IDs as on the passport.
The three ticket lines a group needs
A group of mixed nationalities needs three lines on its fee sheet, not one. Foreign visitors pay IDR 250,000 per person for each day inside the park. Indonesian visitors pay IDR 50,000 on a weekday and IDR 75,000 on weekends and public holidays. The tariff is set by Government Regulation PP 36/2024, in force for Komodo since 30 October 2024.
The entry ticket covers the walks, the wildlife observation and snorkelling. There is no separate snorkelling levy any more, so a guest who swims at Pink Beach pays nothing extra to the park for it.
The figures on this page are those in force today. The written quote repeats the figure on the day it is quoted, and the park's tariff on the day of sailing is the one that applies.
| International visitors | IDR 250,000 per person per day |
| Indonesian visitors | IDR 50,000 per person per day · IDR 75,000 weekends & holidays |
Paid separately in cash or e-ticket; ranger and pier levies are extra and can change. Regulation: PP 36/2024 · Verified 10 October 2026.
The Indonesian ticket is the one calendar-linked fee
For foreign visitors the fee is one rate, every day of the week. For Indonesians it is IDR 50,000 on a weekday and IDR 75,000 on a weekend or a public holiday. That is the only calendar-driven price a group meets in the park, and it is the factual answer to the question every HR manager asks: does a weekend cost more?
The charter rate itself has no such split. We publish one 2026 price list for each boat; weekday and weekend rates are confirmed per date on request. The park fee is a separate line, paid by each guest, and it follows the day on which each guest is inside the park.
A 2D1N sailing from a Friday into a Saturday crosses the line for the Indonesian guests: the first park day is a weekday and the second a weekend. If most of your staff are Indonesian, a sailing from Monday into Tuesday costs them less in park fees, and is easier to block on the boat calendar too.
A group's fee table: ten, fourteen and twenty-eight guests
The fee for a group is a sum of lines: every foreign guest at one rate, every Indonesian guest at the weekday or weekend rate, for each park day. The examples show the fee lines; the calculator adds them, since the total depends on the split of your list and on the days.
| Party | Example split | Fee lines for one park day |
|---|---|---|
| 10 guests | 6 foreign and 4 Indonesian, on a weekday | 6 lines of IDR 250,000 plus 4 lines of IDR 50,000 |
| 14 guests | 8 foreign and 6 Indonesian, at a weekend | 8 lines of IDR 250,000 plus 6 lines of IDR 75,000 |
| 28 guests | 20 foreign and 8 Indonesian, on a weekday | 20 lines of IDR 250,000 plus 8 lines of IDR 50,000 |
Add the lines and multiply by the number of park days. The calculator multiplies for you, and the written quote states how many park days we have counted, so that nobody has to guess at the count.
| Guests | Days | International | Indonesian | Indonesian · weekends & holidays |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | 1 | IDR 500,000 | IDR 100,000 | IDR 150,000 |
| 2 | 2 | IDR 1,000,000 | IDR 200,000 | IDR 300,000 |
| 2 | 3 | IDR 1,500,000 | IDR 300,000 | IDR 450,000 |
| 4 | 1 | IDR 1,000,000 | IDR 200,000 | IDR 300,000 |
| 4 | 2 | IDR 2,000,000 | IDR 400,000 | IDR 600,000 |
| 4 | 3 | IDR 3,000,000 | IDR 600,000 | IDR 900,000 |
| 10 | 1 | IDR 2,500,000 | IDR 500,000 | IDR 750,000 |
| 10 | 2 | IDR 5,000,000 | IDR 1,000,000 | IDR 1,500,000 |
| 10 | 3 | IDR 7,500,000 | IDR 1,500,000 | IDR 2,250,000 |
Entry fee only (PP 36/2024). Ranger and pier levies are extra; weekend domestic rate applies on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Verified 10 October 2026.
One list of names for the tickets
Tickets are bought online, against names. Each visitor is registered by name and by passport or ID number, payment is cashless, and there is no buying at the gate. The names must be exactly as on the passport or the Indonesian ID card. A swapped surname or a missing middle name is the usual reason a ticket must be re-issued.
Mark each name as Indonesian or foreign, because the two are priced differently. The date by which the list must reach us is set in the written quote, and the quote says who buys the tickets, you or us. A daily visitor quota has applied in the park since April 2026, so a late list on a busy date may find the sessions full.
A park ranger must accompany any walk on Komodo, Rinca or Padar. The ranger fee is paid on the day, separately. Personal photographs need no permit; a drone needs a park permit, and a commercial shoot needs a permit and a fee, so tell us before the sailing if either applies.
Producer's checklist, park edition. The manifest with names as on the ID; the Indonesian or foreign marker for each; the cut-off date; the drone or filming plans, if any.
What the fare never contains
A Zada fare, on a private charter or an open trip, never contains the park ticket, the ranger fee, personal expenses or crew tips.
On a private charter the guide and photo and video documentation are not included; they are arranged on request and quoted separately. Park tickets and ranger fees are never in the fare.
It also does not contain the flights to and from Labuan Bajo, the hotel before boarding or any meal outside the boat. The list sits again, in full, on the charter page and in your written quote, because a figure that is missing from a fare is a figure that turns up on a budget line later.
FAQ
How much is the entry fee to Komodo Island?
IDR 250,000 per foreign visitor for each day inside the park; IDR 50,000 for Indonesians on a weekday and IDR 75,000 on weekends and public holidays. A ranger fee is separate, and neither is in a Zada fare.
Do we buy park tickets in advance?
Tickets are bought online against names and passport or ID numbers; there is no buying at the gate. The written quote says whether you or we buy them and the date by which the list must reach us.
Who pays the ranger fee?
It is paid on the day, separately, by the group, and is never in a Zada fare. A ranger must accompany any walk on Komodo, Rinca or Padar. Ask us and we confirm in writing.
Is snorkelling covered by the entry ticket?
Yes. Since the tariff of 30 October 2024 snorkelling is included in the entry ticket, so there is no separate park levy for it. Mask and snorkel are on board for every guest.
