Weekday or weekend on a Komodo boat charter: the one price that follows the calendar

Updated 28 October 2026

We publish one 2026 price list for each boat, and the rate for a weekday or a weekend date is confirmed per date when we quote. Monday and Friday open-trip starts carry the same cabin fares. The park ticket for Indonesians is IDR 50,000 on a weekday and IDR 75,000 at weekends.

What the 2026 price list says, and what is confirmed per date

Start with the price list, because most of the weekday question is answered there. We publish one 2026 price list for each boat; weekday and weekend rates are confirmed per date on request. Zada Ulla has four bands: the 3D2N rate is IDR 95,000,000 · about USD 5,828 for up to 14 guests and IDR 160,000,000 · about USD 9,816 for the 26 to 28 band. Zada Nara is IDR 105,000,000 · about USD 6,442, Zada Zen IDR 85,000,000 · about USD 5,215 and Zada Mega IDR 85,000,000 · about USD 5,215. Each is a price per boat, with the guide and documentation extra.

What is fixed for your date is the rate in the written quote. We confirm it per date when we quote, and it is the figure you pay; nothing is added to it after you accept.

The Indonesian park ticket is the only rate tied to the calendar

Entry to Komodo National Park is priced by who you are and, for Indonesians, by the day. Foreign visitors pay IDR 250,000 per person on any day. Indonesian visitors pay IDR 50,000 on a weekday and IDR 75,000 on a weekend or public holiday. The tariff is set under PP 36/2024 and has applied in Komodo since 30 October 2024; our park-fees page carries the figures as verified on 10 October 2026.

The ticket is paid per person, to the park, and is never inside a boat fare. That makes it a line on your budget sheet, not a reason to move a charter date. A Friday start puts day two on a Saturday and day three on a Sunday, and the quote shows the ticket line for each park day.

Holidays left in 2026 that may move the Indonesian rate

Weekend rates apply to public holidays as well, so the national calendar matters. The 2026 list comes from the three-minister joint decree issued on 19 September 2025: 17 national holidays and 8 days of cuti bersama, the collective leave days that employers often treat as holidays. By the date of this note only two entries remain in the year.

If your trip touches 24 December, the ticket rate for that day is confirmed in the quote. For dates in 2027, ask us for the current holiday list with your quote.

Open trips: Monday and Friday starts at the same fares

The open trips are where a weekday and a weekend start sit side by side on one calendar. Zada Nara, Zada Zen and Zada Mega sail 3D2N open trips on Monday & Friday, with 46 dated departures listed across the fleet. Zada Ulla has no open-trip date listed; dates for it are on request.

Monday and Friday starts carry the same cabin fares. A Deluxe cabin is IDR 6,550,000 · about USD 402 per person on Nara and IDR 6,000,000 · about USD 368 on Mega, twin share, whether the boat leaves on a Monday or a Friday. The guide and the professional documentation are included in an open trip; the park ticket is not.

What differs is the calendar underneath. A Monday start runs Monday to Wednesday. A Friday start runs Friday to Sunday, so day two and day three fall on the weekend, and Indonesian guests pay the higher ticket on those days. The soonest start is Friday, 6 November 2026.

Open trips suit a small team or a recce before a larger event. They do not suit a head count above the cabins left on a given date, and seat availability is confirmed in writing.

Why four boats turn a date into a harder question

One boat needs one free date. Two boats need the same dates free on both, and four boats on all four. We treat several boats as separate private charters booked together: same dates, subject to every boat being free, quoted per boat. Sailing together, a shared anchorage and a joint programme are arranged on request; the captains set the order and the anchorages.

From the desk's side, the more boats you need on one date, the more it helps to offer two or three dates, and weekday dates give you more of them to offer.

The park adds a second constraint. Since April 2026 the park has capped visitors at 1,000 a day through the SiOra booking system, according to Floresa's report of 7 April 2026, so a large group's tickets are booked against names as early as the manifest allows.

None of this is a price difference. It only makes a weekday easier to place when more than one boat is needed.

Four points to take into your date request

Four points, in the order a planner meets them.

  • The charter rate has one list per boat. Ask for your date in writing and read the rate on the quote.
  • Indonesian staff pay IDR 50,000 on a weekday and IDR 75,000 at weekends and public holidays; foreign colleagues pay IDR 250,000 throughout.
  • Between now and 31 December 2026 the only dates that touch the holiday calendar are 24 and 25 December.
  • For two or more boats, send two or three candidate dates, weekdays included, and the names of the boats you want.

Send the head count, the split of Indonesian and foreign guests and your candidate dates to the desk. We reply with a written quote that states the rate for each date.

FAQ

Is a Komodo boat charter cheaper on a weekday?

We publish one 2026 price list per boat, and the rate for your date is confirmed when we quote, before you pay. The park ticket for Indonesians is the one published price that differs by day of the week.

Do Indonesian guests pay more at the weekend?

Yes, for the park ticket only. Indonesians pay IDR 50,000 on a weekday and IDR 75,000 on a weekend or public holiday, per person. Foreign visitors pay IDR 250,000 every day. The ticket is paid to the park and is not part of any boat fare.

Is a Monday open trip cheaper than a Friday one?

No. Open-trip seat fares are the same for Monday and Friday starts on Nara, Zen and Mega. A Friday start puts the second and third days on a Saturday and a Sunday, which affects the park ticket for Indonesian guests.

Does a cuti bersama day count as a holiday for the park ticket?

The only cuti bersama left in 2026 is Thursday 24 December, and the ticket rate for that day is confirmed in the quote. 25 December is a national holiday and takes the holiday rate. For 2027 dates, ask us for the current holiday list.
